Accordion Card Holder

Hi Ladies,

Thanks to all of you who attended the Saturday morning accordion card holder class. It was so nice to see all of you! You requested the instructions for the cardholder so you could make them on your own and here they are. They are compliments of Split Coast Stampers. They have so many great projects there to try!

Supplies

• One 6" x 12" piece of patterned paper
  
• One 4" x 6" piece of patterned paper
  
• Two 3 3/4" x 4" pieces of patterned paper
  
• Three 3 7/8" x 5 3/4" pieces of white cardstock
  
• Three 1 3/4" white cardstock circles
  
• One 2" x 6" piece of patterned paper
  
• Cutter with scoring blade or bone folder
  
• Sticky Strip
  
• Decorative border punch, optional
  
• 18" Ribbon
  
• Magnetic or velcro closure
  
• Stamps, ink

Step-by-Step

1. Score the 6” x 12” patterned paper piece at 4-1/2”, 6-1/2” and 11”, creating the base.

   

2. Score the 4” x 6” Patterned Paper piece at 2”.
   
   Use a decorative edge punch on one end if desired.
   
   Attach this piece along the scored 1” section of the base with Sticky Strip.

   

3. Score the 3-3/4" x 4" patterned paper piece every 1/2" across the 4” side.

   

4. Crease scored lines well and attach accordion pieces to the sides of the base. Take care to line up right along the edges of each panel.

   

5. To add the ribbon, put Sticky Strip on the seam underneath the top flap, and attach the ribbon, being sure to center the ribbon so you can tie correctly on top.
   
   Adhere the 2” x 6” patterned paper piece to cover the seam and the ribbon.

   

6. Secure a velcro dot to the inside of the front panel, leaving both sides of the dot connected. Remove the backing of the 2nd side of the dot and close your box, pressing the 2nd side of the dot to the front of the box. Keeping the dots together will ensure that your closure will match up.
   

   

7. Use stamps or markers to label circles and adhere to the backs of the 3-7/8” x 5-3/4"” cardstock pieces. Insert into the accordion slots.

   

8. Add any decorations to the outside of your box - use your punches to create butterflies. flowers, labels, etc.
   

9. Your accordion style card holder is finished.

10. Don't be afraid to try lots of different patterns to create the holders. They're quick and cute and wonderful gifts!

September Workshops

Hi All,

I'm finally on the ball this month. I've got three great workshops scheduled for you in September! I'm back to my regular schedule now that summer is over. We'll have the scrap workshops on the first Tuesday of the month and the card workshops on the third Tuesday of the month. You can plan on this schedule for future months. I've also included information for my first Christmas Card Workshop in October. Yes, I really am on the ball. LOL! Please remember to bring your scissors and tape runner to the workshops. I do have tape runner and refills on hand and available for purchase if you need them. Now for the important info........

Tuesday, September 7th - 3:45 - 8:00 PM - 12 x 12 Scrap Layout- $5 or FREE with a $35 order. We'll be focusing on Family, as you can see from the pics attached. Feel free to bring some family pics to add to your pages, using my punches to enhance the pics. The best kind of picture for this type of layout is one that may not be the best shot, where you can crop out faces or specific items from the shots. It's a great way to capitalize on some not-so-great photos, but yet have adorable finished pages. The RSVP deadline is quick..... please respond by Friday, September 3rd.

Saturday, September 18th - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM - Simply Adorned Workshop - You've seen Stampin' Up's new Charms. Now you're going to create your own and/or one for a special friend or family member! You can purchase a matching chain or attach the charm to a chain you already have. For $30, you'll receive the largest charm, 1 1/2" x 2", a sheet of the new rhinestone jewels and five inserts for the charm. See attached pic for the inserts. If you'd like to add the Charming Stamp Set to your order, total cost is $45. That's a savings of $5 off the stamp set! This project will take approximately one hour. You are welcome to come anytime within the 3 hour time frame to complete your set. Because this workshop requires a special order for the charms and rhinestones, the RSVP deadline is quick.....Friday, September 3rd. This month, we'll be focusing on the new Just Believe Stamp Set. It is really a beautiful set that can be used for any occasion. We'll also be using the new Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, some of the new Crochet Ribbon and lots of new colors. I'm also going to introduce you all to my wonderful Big Shot machine. You'll all be using it to emboss one of the card fronts using a great new embossing folder! See the attached pics for the workshop cards and the cards for the extra kit ($5) for the month. This card doesn't really have a blue background. That would look a little silly with the Rich Razzleberry ink, wouldn't it? I just used the blue paper so you could really see the card. Hi Ladies,

Yes, I'm a little behind this month. Kevin decided he was ready to start remodeling the bathroom this past weekend. I've been ready for over a year, so the minute he said he was ready, I got right to work! It looks so nice. We're not quite finished yet, but definitely moving in the right direction .

I'm going to make one more change for regular scrap and card workshops from here on out. Anytime you place an order of $35 or more, your scrap pages or cards are free. You are never obligated to make a purchase and can always just pay $5 for the workshop projects, but I thought I'd reward you for making a purchase when you want to.

Here is the info for workshops in August:

Tuesday, August 10th - 3:45 - 8 PM - 12 x 12 Scrap Layout for $5. Come and go as you need to. We will be making a 2 page 12 x 12 layout that shows you how to utilize scraps of paper and ribbon. See attached for details. This is a super quick and simple technique that makes cute pages for any age, gender, etc. All you need to bring is scissors and adhesive. Tuesday, August 17th - 3:45 - 8 PM - 3 Cards for $5. Come and go as you need to. We'll be focusing on some beautiful techniques with these cards including heat emboss resist, black magic, and paper flower folding, using the Inspired by Nature Stamp Set. I'll also have the additional card kits available including three more cards made using the same stamp set for $5. All you need to bring is scissors and adhesive. Please RSVP by Friday, August 13th and include whether you will be making just the workshop cards or want to include the additional card kit.

Saturday, August 28th - 9 AM - 12 PM- Adorable Card Holder Project for $10. Life is finally settling down a bit and I am able to schedule a FUN Saturday workshop! We'll be making the attached card holder. Your cost includes the materials to make the card holder and a full roll of sticky strip to assemble the holder, along with coffee and breakfast desserts! The project will take about an hour, so you are welcome to come anytime during the three hour period. This is a great gift for friends and family.
